About Me
I started my career in public education as a teacher and instructional coach before serving in site and district administrative roles. My most recent TK-12 position was as the superintendent of one of the 20 largest school districts in California, where I created a ten-stage protocol to mitigate initiative overload and establish clear parameters for implementing instructional and operational programming. As a published author of two books on systems change management, Leading the Launch: A Ten-Stage Process for Successful School District Initiatives (2021) and Leading Through an Equity Lens (2023), my consulting business specializes in real-world solutions for optimal impact. My clients include statewide agencies, county offices of education, solution providers, and school districts. Helping leaders to change their systems from the inside out is my personal and professional mission.
Leading the Launch offers a ten-stage initiative implementation process proven to help you lead the charge for change with ingenuity, flexibility, responsiveness, and passion. Ideal for a team book study, this resource includes strategies, tools, case studies, and end-of-chapter action plans and checklists to guide your work.
Learn how to transform your culture and improve student outcomes by executing initiatives through an equity lens. The process in this book helps leaders keep their focus zeroed in on serving groups of students that have been historically denied access to a quality education by responsibly and responsively infusing initiatives into their organizations.
I offer localized professional learning sessions as well as customized support for schools, districts, county offices of education and other educational entities onsite, or in hybrid or virtual settings.
Leadership can be lonely, but it doesn’t have to be! I hope you will join me for real, practical, and honest conversations about how we can transform the system from the inside out.
"It was hands-down one of the best administrative trainings I've been to in my 28 yr. career. The presenter was very engaging. I would definitely consider attending all other training/retreats that Dr. Kim Wallace hosts."

She was very enthusiastic about delivering great ideas and materials that would make schools' job so much easier in assisting students. She is a great partner to collaborate with and brainstorm on what works best. There are times when we had to rush for deadlines, and she's always been supportive of us, making sure that she's responsive to our calls and requests. We look forward to consulting with Dr. Wallace for her invaluable experience and expertise in administering teams and large public schools."

"Dr. Wallace presented to over 600 hundred teachers in Evergreen Elementary School District. In a distance learning environment, this is no small task. Her presentation on professional learning communities was invaluable. Now more than ever, we need to be discussing student data and how to mitigate the learning loss experienced since the COVID-19 Pandemic began. Dr. Wallace's resources and expertise coupled with her approachability and common sense strategies made the learning engaging and applicable right away. Teachers walked away with actionable steps and site administrators had a nexus for continuing the conversations with their staff. We can't thank her enough for her presentation and what it means for the learning outcomes for students in Evergreen School District."
